As with any hobby, you won't get very far unless you have access to information pertaining to the item you collect. It is fortunate that in the Casino Chip Collecting hobby there is a wealth of information to draw from and a host of people who are willing to pass on their knowledge and educate new collectors to the hobby.
This is a shout out to all those who I have crossed paths with over the years and a thank you to everyone who has inspired me to get this far. Thank you to those that have spent countless hours creating invaluable reference sources such as Price Guides and websites. Thank you to those who I have traded with, purchased from or sold chips to. Thank you to those that have helped educate me over the past years and special thank to the collectors who have contributed to this website.
John Kallman
A special mention to John Kallman who I have been fortunate enough to know since the very beginning of my collecting existence. In the early days I was having to pass up on many US chips due to the fact that a lot of US sellers (on ebay) will not ship internationally. There were some Australian chips I really wanted & John responded to a request offering to accept the delivery for me in his home town Minnesota & forward on to me in Australia. I'm quite sure that when he made that offer he didn't realise what he was getting himself in for! After 3+ years & 100's of padded bags later, John is still accepting my parcels and bulk mails to me about once a month.
John, in partnership with Ken Nestle, is also the one responsible for my ongoing obsession with Australian & New Zealand chips. John and his website cashcoinconnection.com is what got me hooked on Australian Chips.
Without John accepting my parcels from ebay & the Chip Board and without the cashcoinconnection website, I would have found it nearly impossible to build my collection to what it is today. I cannot thank John enough and for these things I am eternally grateful.
Thanks also to John for all of the invaluable contributions made to the ACG.
David Murrin
David Murrin is a fellow Aussie and the creator and webmaster of the Australian Chip Guide.
Going back almost 12 months I mentioned that I wanted to make a website to database my casino chip collection. David foolishly mentioned that he could do that, having designed & worked on many other websites before. What he failed to consider when offering up his services was what was involved in producing a website for my casino collectibles but more so producing a website for me!
So after many emails, meetings, MSN conversations and exasperated sighs he has finally waded his way through my ever changing brief and produced a website that we can both be proud of.
Should anyone reading this be interested in creating a similar website for their collection then I highly recommend David for the job. He can be contacted via email
Walter Dirzulaitis
Walter is the only member of the CC>CC I have actually met in person. I caught up with Walter on one of his many trips around the world in my home town of Adelaide. Walter is another fellow Australian & New Zealand chip collector and I'm sure has one of the best collections going around. Walter's knowledge and ability to recall information has been a great help in adding detail & a bit of history to the ACG. In addition, Walters contributions of scans of chips & memorabilia have helped enrich the ACG greatly.
